Spamalot orchestra seats sold out until August
Eric Idle's wacky Broadway production of "Spamalot" doesn't even emerge from previews until Thursday, but that hasn't stopped the passionate word of mouth slurring forth from all directions.
While that's all well and good, it also means you're spam outta luck if you don't have Spamalot tickets yet. There are tickets to be had, but not good ones and not anytime before August.
Your NewYorkology editor stood in line at the Shubert for about half an hour yesterday afternoon, hoping for a pair of tickets in the orchestra - any night of the week. The man in the box whirred his computer and smiled patiently.
August 3rd.
How about the front section of the mezzanine? (Still $101 each, mind you.) That bought July 6. A Wednesday matinee with mediocre orchestra seats was available only slightly sooner.
Eventually standing-room-only tickets will go on sale for $21.25 nightly. And there's the whole game about trying to catch cancellations, but those probably won't be around for awhile either.
Earlier: Now would be the time to buy 'Spamalot' tickets
