Jets get MTA's unanimous OK to build stadium
The MTA has unanimously voted to sell construction rights over its Westside rail yards to the Jets, removing a major hurdle that could allow the construction of a new football stadium which is also key to the city's bid to host the 2012 Olympics. NY1 has the story.
The vote shut out Cablevision, the owners of the nearby Madison Square Gardens, which many saw as a bid made only to prevent any competition from a new venue.
