Cyclone opening day set for start of spring

Snow may be forecast for Sunday, but indeed it's the first day of spring. And that means it's time for Cyclone, the historic Coney Island rollercoaster, to kick off the season with a bunch of crazy gimmicks, according to Brooklyn's 24/7 arts paper.

The first 200 people to arrive at Astroland Park on Sunday will get free rides on the wooden coaster. The remainder of the day, free rides will be given to anyone who brings a Slinky, pogo stick, or any other type of coil or spring. (Spring, get it?)

The Cyclone opens to the public at noon. The normal price for a ride is $5.
