Reservations: why get it free when you can pay?

Earlier this week, Curbed reporterd that a new web site, www.withoutreservations.biz, is selling Valentine's Day dinner reservations for $40. On Wednesday I sent a few questions to the people running the site, and they've not yet responded. Apparently they're too busy counting their money. Among my questions:

What do you do if a restaurant requires a credit card to hold the reservation? Do you give them a fake one?

Aren’t you basically making it harder for the rest of us to get a table?
Today's Post has a story about the site, sans interview, but it does note that the site was selling reservations to restaurants that actually still have Valentine's reservations available -- for free. Suckers.

Checking the site tonight, I see they are entirely sold out for New York, but have gobs left in Los Angeles.
