Bon Appetit hotties: Inoteca, Per Se, Momofuku, Cru
"Where to Eat Now," a pull-out guide in the March issue of Bon Appetit picks five New York restaurants for its "Hot 50" U.S. list.
Inoteca - "(B)oisterous Lower East Side Italian spot" where entrees cost $6 to $15. Truffled egg toast, gamberetti with pancetta, porchetta panini are listed as the specialties.
Per Se - "(T)he food is exquisite, the service is flawless, and the views of Central Park are stunning." Specialties listed are black sea bass with arugula, Wagyu beef with marrow, and the "creamsicle." The tasting manues range from $125 to $150.
The Spotted Pig - (A) West Village gastropub, where the exposed-brick
interior and gritty charm belie its youth." With hand-cask bitter beer, its specialities are sheep's-milk ricotta gnudi, char-grilled burger with Roquefort. Entrees cost $15 to $20.
Momofuku Noodle Bar - "This small, counter-only East village spot ... takes ramen to new heights" with entrees ranging from $7 to $13. Specialties include ramen with pork and poached egg, pork dumplings with Chinese chives.
Cru - Situated just up Fifth Avenue from Washington Square Park, the restaurant features a 65,000-bottle wine cellar and entrees ranging from $29 to $36. Specialties include grain fed veal and whole-wheat bigoli pasta with sardines, garlic and croutons.
