BillyBey Ferry may buy some NY Waterway routes
A tentative agreement has been reached to save NY Waterway ferry service between Manhattan and New Jersey, the New York Times reports. Late last year, NY Waterway suddenly announced its finances were so mucked up that it might cease operations any day.
Under the new plan, attorney William Wachtel is creating the BillyBey Ferry Company L.L.C. to buy some NY Waterway boats and routes -- though he doesn't even plan to swap in a new logo, so ferry passengers are unlikley to notice any changes in service.
