Met Museum to open roof garden for 'Gates' exhibit

During the 16 days that Christo and Jeanne-Claude's 7,500 saffron-colored gates are on display in Central Park, the Met Museum will open its rooftop garden for viewing of the exhibit. The garden will be open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. -- weather permitting. "The Gates" officially runs from Feb. 12 to 27.

Normally closed Mondays, the museum will be open on Presidents' Day, Feb. 21. (But closed the other Monday of the exhibit, Feb. 14.)

In a related note, the Met will open this coming Monday, Jan. 17, for Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
