Average rate for New York hotel room rises to $212
The average nightly rate for a New York City hotel room is now $212, up from a five-year low of $193 in 2003, according to NYC & Co., the city's official tourism arm. The city had an 83 percent hotel occupancy rates in 2004, compared with 73.4% in 2001 and 84.6% in 2000.
