Natural History Museum, Hall of Science among price hikers

MoMa ($20) and the Met ($15 as of Jan.) aren't the only cultural institutions with higher rates already in place or on deck, the Post reports. The American Museum of Natural History, the NY Hall of Science in Queens, the Museum of the City of New York, the Brooklyn Museum, the Staten Island Zoo and El Museo del Barrio are already charging more this year, according to the paper.

The remainder of the story builds on the Crain's report from last week -- that the city cultural budget is getting cut and admission prices may be rising. Though the Post points out that the 34 city-funded groups need permission to boost fees, and any rise in price must be offset by additional free hours.
