Hard Rock moving to Times Square

The Hard Rock Cafe will move to Times Square in the fall of 2005, ditching its current digs on 57th Street, Reuters reports. The Hard Rock will move into the building at 43rd Street, which still bears the signs advertising the last tenant, World Wrestling Entertainment. Earlier, the site housed the Paramount Theater, where Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley and The Beatles performed.

The new Hard Rock will have seating for 583 and a concert area for 1,000. The press release also mentions a "unique outdoor space above the building's historic marquee, where guests can host private parties amid the lights and excitement of Times Square."

Late next year, Hard Rock plans to open a hotel on 46th Street between Broadway and 8th Avenue.
