Best budgets: Inn on 23rd, Cosmo, Gershwin and more

The Sunday Times of London recently ran a story on New York budget hotels. Their picks: The Inn on 23rd, ("plenty of frills for the price" but the "homeless shelter next door goes some way to explaining the low cost;") the Harlem Flop House, (tin ceilings, retro furnishings, a Southern breakfast and a resident cat;) the Cosmopolitan Hotel, ("the cheapest rooms — the miniloft rooms — are also the most fun. There’s a bathroom and sitting area on one level, while a staircase leads up to the bed area;") the Gershwin, ("it has dormitory beds from £21 a night, is popular with musicians, and has a floor dedicated to models at the start of their careers;") and the Broadway Inn, ("it’s very clean, and its friendliness is palpable.")
