A Brooklyn B&B -- but it's in Bed-Stuy
Visit New York's "wackiest" Bed & Breakfast -- in Bedford-Stuyvesant, no less. A writer for London's Telegraph stays at the Akwaaba Mansion for a week, despite having a hard time findng cabbies who will take her there. Both in the dining room and the bedrooms, the decor was an oddly seductive mixture of Dickensian, parlour-style kitsch and Afro-American memorabilia, with antlers, antique birdcages and old gas-lights heaped alongside Stetson hatboxes and 1930s tap-dancing shoes.
