Illuminating science in the city

Gary Agranat, an ex-space flight engineer, runs Gary's New York Pages, which has an especially good section on Science in the City. It has links galore. His home page says he's only updating occasionally now, though he does have a list of upcoming science-type lectures, including the enticingly titled "Cannibalism, Promiscuity and Violence: The Brutish Lives of Stars in Dense Clusters" scheduled for Nov. 5 at the American Museum of Natural History.

UPDATE: Gary writes to point out that "the two best sponsors for astronomy talks in Manhattan are the American Museum of Natural History/Rose Center-Hayden Planetarium and the Amateur Astronomers Association. Most of the Planetarium's talks are in the museum's planetarium building on 81st Street. The Amateur Astronomers Association have their talks at the museum but in another part of the building, on 77th Street. Also, unlike the planetarium's talks the amateur group's talks are free." Thanks, Gary!
