Nine out of 10 taxi drivers are honest, Daily News finds

The Daily News sent a blind woman into 10 NYC cabs with instructions to overpay with a $20 and say "here's a five." Nine out of ten corrected her and gave her the right change, while the 10th (tracked down at home by a reporter) apologized and said it was an honest mistake on his part. The blind woman, RoseMarie McCaffery, an advocate for the visually impaired, was actually surprised even one was caught in the sting:

"I think cabbies by and large are honest and hardworking,” McCaffery, 58, of Manhattan, said. "I expected 10 honest cab drivers. I really did."
