Walking Little Italy with Vinny

In the MoMA store a couple days ago, I plunked down $20 for the Soundwalk tour of Little Italy and got an audio walking tour with Vinny Vella, a neighborhood native and actor whose credits range from "The Sopranos" to "Casino." The narration is pretty funny and gives an authentic-feeling, though at times campy, description of the area. The dialogue is pretty raw, so I wouldn't buy it for Aunt Gertie, but it was a fun trek into neighborhood shops, old gangster hangouts and to the edge of creeping Chinatown. They also do Wall Street, Times Square, the Meat Packing District, Chinatown, the Lower East Side, Brooklyn and the Bronx. A Sept. 11 edition will be released soon. They come in CD or MP3 format.
