NY Aquarium: 'Not as good as I expected'

We trekked out to the New York Aquarium at Coney Island with my 8-year-old stepson on Saturday. We took him several years ago, but apparently he was too young to remember it. The place is located on the famous Coney Island boardwalk with easy access from the Q or F subway lines. Though the lad said the aquarium was "not as good as I expected," he seemed particularly interested in the sharks, giant manna ray, the pufferfish and some sort of rock fish. There is also an impressive jellyfish exhibit, beluga whales and a hands-on exhibit that allows kids to touch horseshoe crabs. We skipped the performing sea lion show and saw the whole place in under two hours> We milled around the boardwalk a bit before heading home via the recently reopened Stillwell subway station.
